THE COMPANY CONSOLIDATED ACCOUNTS AS AT SEPTEMBER 30, 2000 OUTSTRIPS SALES, OPERATING RESULT AND GROSS PROFIT OF THE WHOLE 1999 The Board of Directors presents the consolidated results of the third quarter of the year compared with same period of 1999 (in brackets): - Sales Lire 119.3 billion (+56%) - Gross operating margin (EBITDA) Lire 13.1 billion (+60%) - Operating result (EBIT) Lire 11.1 billion (+77%) - Gross profit (EBT) Lire 11.2 billion (+127%) Considering Prima Industrie SpA only, the Group leader, sales have been Lire 85.6 billion (+34%); EBIT Lire 8 billion (+84%); profit before taxes Lire 8.3 billion (+184%).
