Two of the leading specialists in laser and sheet metal working technology joined forces in February 2008 as Prima Industrie acquired the Finn-Power Group and through this "merger of equals", the third largest market player in the world thus came into existence. Since then, the group has been extensively reorganized to create an integrated functional entity; similarly, the global sales and service networks have been merged.

 

Prima Industrie now announces a change in corporate branding, whereby Prima Industrie will continue as the name of the parent company, listed on the Milan Exchange, whereas the two industrial divisions will be renamed. In the future, the laser and sheet metal working products and services will be available under the banner Prima Power, and Prima Electronics becomes Prima Electro.
